Berkeley College, the Yale intramural basketball champion, overcame a six-point deficit in the last three minutes of the fourth period to force Kirkland, the House League winner into an overtime period Saturday night at the I.A.B. BerKeley went on to win, 53 to 51, in the extra period on a basket by Sandy Ross with three seconds to go.

The Elis, with a decided height advantage and three pivot men, forced Kirkland into a defensive game. Chan Cushman and Tom Everhart scored 14 and 13 points for the losers.
