DETROIT, March 13--Mrs. Lorraine Faxon Meisner was expelled from Wayne University today, University officials announced.
The Council of Deans notified Mrs. Meisner by telegram that her suspension of two weeks ago was to be permanent "until such time as you are able to give assurance of qualities and conduct consonant with the educational standards and objectives of the University."
Dr. David Henry, President of the school, originally suspended Mrs. Meisner because she refused to testify whether or not she was a Communist before the House Un-American Activities Committee's hearings in Detroit.
Today's action was taken on the recommendation of a University committee.
