A threatened strike of street railway employees servicing most of the eastern section of Massachusetts appeared no closer to settlement last night. After a conference of labor and management representatives and state conciliators, it was announced another meeting would be held today.

The 1,600 employees of the Eastern Massachusetts Street Railway have voted to strike for a pay increase.
