A strong first half carried Yale to a hard-fought 13 to 7 win over the Crimson polo team at New Haven Monday afternoon. The Elis built up an 8 to 2 margin in the first half which gave them a safe lead for the second, despite a spirited Crimson recovery.
Captain Jerry Iannelli provided four scores for the losers and paced their rally in the final chukkers. Bob Ransom with two goals, and Lou LeFevre with one, completed the Crimson line-up.
The varsity, while hitting better than its opponents at times, will have to show considerable improvement in its teamwork if it is to win when the two teams meet next on February 16 in New Haven.
