Crimson skiers came through with their best results of the season at Amherst, yesterday, taking a first in the cross-country event, and a second for the meet.

Williams took first place in the downhill and jump with 290.52 points to the Crimson's 285.79. Amherst finished third with 271.90, while the University of Massachusetts was last with 193.32.

Harvard's John Hart far outclassed all cross-country competitors, winning the wept in 50 minutes, 11 seconds, with plenary Foote of Williams trailing four minutes behind. Crimson skiers Jim Lawson and Neil Dixon took fifth and sixth place.

Whitney Black, in the downhill, held the meet's best time up till the last ten yards, when he ran off the trail and crashed into a tree. He was unhurt, but did not finish.

Williams ran up a perfect score of 100 in the jump, but Harvard was only five points behind. "Butch" Horner placed fourth for the Crimson, while John Hart and Tim Wise were fifth and eighth.
