Lowell House best Eliot, 47 to 37, in 'A' league basketball last night to tighten its hold on first place in the league. The Elephants' Dan Steiner was high scorer with 14 points, followed by Larry Corser of Lowell with ten, Kirkland and Dudley had previously been tied with Lowell for first place.
Leverett squeezed by Kirkland, 30 to 37, in evertime on Lou Chiser's basket. Dunster defeated Winthrop, 40 to 22. Winthrop's John Culver was high scorer with 14 points, followed closely by Hugh Raphael of the Funsters with 13. Adams won its second game of the season by dumping Dudley, 50 to 40.
In the House 'A' League Squash Eliot, leads with 23 games won and only eight lost. Kirkland is in second place, Elise behind with a record of 35 and 10. Duster stands at 17 and 13; Winthrop is fourth with a slate of 13 and 17. Leading the bottom half is Lowell House with a 13 and 22 total. Leverett has an 11 and 19 record to show for its endeavors, and Adams, in the last place, has won only nine times, but has lost 21 matches.
