An investigation by the City Solicitor's Office disclosed yesterday that there are no criminals in the Outing Club.
The investigation followed a request by the club for the right to become a corporation. Following customary procedure, the office looked up the records of club members, but found no offenses.
In an official report to the City Council, the office reported, "The Harvard Outing Club has never been engaged in the illegal sale of alcoholic beverages, in keeping places or tenements used for illegal gaming, or in any other occupations prohibited by law."
Harry C. Gibson '53, club president, said yesterday that the club wants to become incorporated in order to facilitate ownership of a ski lodge in Jaffrey, N.H., and a hearse for transportation to and from the lodge.
