Excuse Forms Arrive For Absence Records

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

With the arrival yesterday of colored triplicate forms, the new upperclass excused absence system goes into full operation, Registrar Sargent Kennedy '28 said last night.

Under the plan for decentralization of the Dean's Office, the Faculty on October 21 approved the filing of all absence reports with the Registrar's Office.

Upperclassmen must now check first with the Registrar's secretary when excused from any assigned work or exams for any reason.

Upon notification, the secretary will send one form (white) to the student's instructor, another (blue) to his Allston Burr Senior Tutor, and will retain the third (pink) slip. It is now the student's responsibility, not that of the Dean's Office, to see that instructors are notified of an excused absence, Kennedy noted.

The system for freshmen is unchanged; notification of instructors is automatic. The Registrar's Office will also continue to send attendance lists to the freshman deans.
