A wide-scale study "to counter the next economic moves of the Communists" will be led by William Y. Elliott, professor of Government. Edward S. Mason, Dean of the Littauer School of Public Administration, will also serve on the committee, it was announced last night.
Privately sponsored by the Woodrow Wilson Foundation and the National Planning Association, the survey is, according to these groups, timed to coincide with the new Republican administration, "because there will undoubtedly be a new appraisal of government programs."
The report will analyze the main reasons why our foreign economic policy "has not been more successful," and will suggest modifications.
Elliott is presently assistant to the director for foreign affairs in the Office of Defense Mobilization. He wrote a similar study which was released last week.
