Crimson Jayvees Overhaul Bulldog Lead to Win, 13-7

A couple of second period touchdowns gave the Crimson jayvees a 13 to 7 victory in a rough, sometimes dirty contest against Yale's slightly favored eleven yesterday at the Junior Varsity Field.

The jayvees had to overcome a one-touchdown deficit before they could gain victory. Yale opened the scoring late in the first period on a 55-yard drive that took four plays. Eli quarterback Mike Armstrong, who shared the passing with left-handed Vince Barker, completed a toss to end Don Scott that covered 25 yards and move the ball to the Crimson 30. Fullback Al Laisy plunged through center for another ten yards, and one play later Armstrong swept wide around right end for 20 yards and the score.

Halfback Dinney Finney came up with the longest run of the afternoon in the second period when he returned a punt 55 yards for the Crimson's first touchdown. Joe Conselman converted to tie the score.

A few minutes later, halfback Bob Albert set up the second and final Crimson tally by intercepting one of Armstrong's passes on the 50. Fullback Leon Markoff then plunged through the middle for 18 yards, around left end for 20, and around the opposite end for five yards and the score.
