Deferments in Doubt

The Army may refuse draft deferments to 15 percent of the freshmen members of R.O.T.C., Lt. Col. Trevor N. DuPuy, professor of Military Science, announced yesterday.

Students would remain in 1A until drafted. Only those in the top 85 percent of the class are now assured temporary 1D deferments, DuPuy stated.
