Adams House Library Refuses Admittance to Freshman Class

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The Adams House Library last night denied admittance to all freshmen.

A sign on its door said: "Freshmen are not allowed to use the House library. Sorry '56".

James Runquist '55 posted the note after House Librarian John S. Schmitt '53 had instructed all librarians that the library was for the use of House members only. Schmitt said he made the instructions after conferring with Housemaster David M. Little '17.

Little was unavailable for comment last night.

L. Donald Tashjian '56 and Newell B. Mack '56, a Union Committee member, claimed last night that the bar closed the only freshman studying place open after 10 p.m.
