Workmen to Stay at Mt. Auburn Diggings

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Workmen will continue excavating along Mt. Auburn St, for an indefinite period, a spokesman for the Cambridge Gas and Electric Company said last night.

So far, 13 holes have been dug between Linden and Holyoke Streets, most of them in front of Claverly Hall. The workmen are tightening joints on a 24 inch gas pipe, which sprung a leak several weeks ago and began to disturb residents of Claverly. A minute trickle of gas was escaping from the feed line into the basement of the dormitory through a conduit.
