George Santayana '86 left $10,000 to the University. The gift was discovered last week when the philosopher's will was probated in Boston.
The money will be used to further endow the fellowship Santayana established here in 1928. He willed most of his $125,000 to Boston relatives.
Santayana died this September in Rome, where he lived since his self-imposed exile in 1912.
