The freshman football team, winner of two straight games, will be a definite underdog this afternoon at Providence against a high-scoring Brown team.
The game is scheduled for 2 p.m.
The Bruins have won four straight, topping Worcester Academy by one touchdown, and the Yale freshmen by three, 24 to 6. They are led by halfback Zipper Thompson, who wanted to go to Harvard, but ended up at Brown. Thompson has scored 11 of the Bruins' 15 touchdowns.
Meyer May Start
Jan Meyer, six-foot, 187 pounder from Darien, Conn., will start at center for Captain Dave Bodiker, in the only major Crimson lineup change. Meyer has been playing "really fine ball," according to Coach Bob Margarita, and he and Bodiker will alternate.
Dexter Lewis, a hard runner who has scored three of the five Yardling touchdowns, will start at wingback, with Dick Oehmler, who finally lived up to expectations against Dartmouth, at tailback. Bill Volmer, a two way player and a fine tackler, will open at fullback, with Joe Crehore calling the signals from his blocking back post.
The freshmen will be seeking its second victory in college competition.
