Varsity Scrimmages JV, Yardling Teams

Not even the first really cold day of the season could stop the varsity football team from an intensive and rugged overtime scrimmage in the practice enclosure yesterday.

While the recuperating Buddy Lemay, Harvey Popell, and Hank Rate worked out without pads, the rest of the squad drilled on offense and defense.

Bob Margarita's freshmen came over for the first time, and set up a defensive pattern against which the varsity tried various plays.

At the same time, the defensive unit attempted to stop a J.V. team which ran plays from the T and winged-T which Washington will use Saturday.

Earlier, Coach Lloyd Jordan had deployed his defensive team against the offensive eleven in a brief display of punting under pressure.
