Six Will Play In New Round Robin Match

The varsity hockey team has withdrawn from the Rensselaer Polytechnical Invitation tournament and will instead engage in a round-robin competition with Greater Boston colleges, the CRIMSON learned yesterday.

The hockey schedule, which has not yet been officially released by the HAA, calls for a four team tournament on December 26th and 27th. Boston College, Boston University, and Northeastern will participate with Harvard in the round-robin.

Won Consolation Trophy

Last year the varsity won the consolation trophy in the eight-team RPI tourney. Brown won the championship. Other teams that competed were Dartmouth, MIT, St. Patrick's of Ottawa, Loyola of Montreal, Williams and Rensselaer.

Boston College, Boston University, and Northeastern are all scheduled to play the Crimson twice each in addition to the round-robin play.

School Hockey May be Cut

At the same time, Walter A. Brown, president of the Garden-Arena Corporation, indicated yesterday that high school hockey may be dractically cut down at the Arena. Brown and the local high school associations have been unable to agree on financial arrangements for use of the Arena.

In the event local high school teams do not use Arena ice, it is likely that the Crimson hockey teams, including all House squads, will have even more use of the skating facilities than was previously expected.
