EXTRA POINT

To the Editors of the CRIMSON:

I have always been opposed to the extra point after a touchdown. Therefore I consider the Harvard-Colgate game to have been a dead-heat. Each team scored three touchdowns which represents the true outcome of the game. The extra point, won or lost, should not be permitted to interfere with the real complexion of the game.

Furthermore--missing the extra point and thereby losing the game is a devastating experience for the goal-kicker. I know this from experience as my college career was well-nigh ruined by missing the extra point and thereby losing a Harvard game. I disappeared from the picture for three days.

Field-goals should be emphasized; and goals from dropkicks--a fine feature of football greatly enjoyed by players and spectators--should be resumed. Francis C. Woodman '88
