Cornell's Daily Sun became the sixth Ivy League newspaper to support Gov. Adlai E. Stevenson in his campaign for the Presidency, announcing its endorsement in Tuesday's issue.
The Sun joins Harvard, Yale, Dartmouth, Columbia, and Brown in its editorial support of the Democratic nominee. Princeton has backed Dwight D. Eisenhower, while the Daily Pennsylvanian is uncommitted at this date.
The Sun expressed its "disillusionment" and "dismay" with the General's campaign, and applauded Stevenson for "developing detailed, objective treatments of many . . . topics."
An editorial "written on behalf of those staff members who disagree" with the majority position of the Sun appeared alongside the Stevenson endorsement.
