Ivy League football got a boost yesterday from Colonel Robert McCormick, Chicago Tribune publisher, who watched Yale's 35-28 triumph over Columbia.

"I have never seen a better example of spirit, team-play, determination, and the will to win than Yale and Columbia displayed Saturday," McCormick told Robert Hall, Yale's athletic director.

"The Ivy League doesn't have to apologize to any other section of the country for its spirited, aggressive brand of football," he added.
