Square Grocery Firm Appeals A.B.C. Liquor License Refusal

Edwin R. Sage, Inc., a grocery firm on Church Street, near the Square, petitioned the Suffolk Superior Court earlier this week for a package goods license, which it was allegedly deprived of illegally by the Alcoholic Beverages Commission.

The A.B.C. report said that its action was due to "the applicant's presence in an area where there is, in the opinion of the Commission, a sufficient number of such licenses."
