Williams Vetoes Total Frat Representation

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Williams students voted "no" to a Student Council poll suggesting that there should be total fraternity membership in the school. The vote was 509 to 309 for retention of the present restricted system.

The topic of complete membership hit the campus in December when members of the Garfield Club, a non-fraternity group, voted to disband unless the college made it possible for every student to join a Greek-letter fraternity. The Garfield proposal goes before the Williams Board of Trustees this week in New York.
