After a nip-and-tuck first half, a smooth-working Yardling five collected a tidy 76 to 60 win over the Dartmouth freshmen at the Blockhouse last night.
Holding only a slim lead as the second period ended, the Crimson freshmen opened up a barrage immediately following halftime. The Yardlings seemed to be able to hit from almost any place on the floor, and their snappy pass work effectively penetrated the Green defense.
Forward Harry Sacks scored consistently with his foul-lane hook shot, collecting 24 points to top the Yardlings. Guard Paul Shaw placed second with 23 points.
Lanky Dick Fairly, effective under the backboards, and guard Glenn Wilson, his team's leading scorer with 20 points, played leading roles in the Dartmouth attack.
