Good teamwork and complete control of both backboards gave Holworthy a 49-22 win over Wigglesworth West and the first half Yardling intramural basketball title. Holworthy scored points before the losers could make two field goals, and kept ahead from then on.
Captain Bob Richter kept the backboards all to himself as the winners piled up a 27-15 half-time lead. In the second half Dick Dollins poured in four field goals as Holworthy completely outclassed Wigglesworth. Dollins was the game's high scorer with 13 points, while Richter scored 11. Larry Kartiganer led the loser with eight points.
