Dudley Five Suffers First Loss; Dunces Dump Lowell Sextet, 7-3

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Overcoming a Commuter lead in the final two minutes, the Eliot quintet handed Dudley its first defeat, 37 to 34, yesterday. The Air R.O.T.C. edged the Deacons, 36 to 35, and Dunster snowed under the Army R.O.T.C. 52 to 26, in non-league contests.

In the House hockey league, the Dunces behind the sparkling first line play of Fred Koch, dropped Lowell, 7 to 3, and Leverett defeated the Gold Coasters, 6 to 2.

Trailing 19 to 17 at the half, in a fourth period surge, the Elephants closed Dudley's lead. Eliot was paced by John Semmeimeyer with 15 points. In the 'B' contest, Dudley edged the Elephant, 36 to 35.

Sparked by former Crimson forward Jim Urdan, a Deacon drive to trim the Air R.O.T.C. lead in the final minutes failed. The flyers were led by forward Dave Cliff with 19 points.

A powerful forward line, inspired by the brilliant play of center Koch, was the deciding factor as the Dunster sextet downed Lowell House. Koch topped the scoring with three goals.
