Draft conscious students who did not take the College Student Deferment Test last Spring will still be able to qualify for a 2-A (a) deferment. The Selective Service Board announced last night that it had scheduled two new qualification tests--on Thursday, December 13, and Thursday, April 24.
The first test is designed primarily for students whose academic year, and thus their current draft deferment, will end next January.
Applications for the December test must be postmarked not later than midnight November 5, and for the April exam, not later than midnight March 10. As on the four previous tests, students must score above 70 on the test and or be in the upper half of their class to be considered for deferment.
