Classes for Red Cross Senior Life saving certificates open to both men and women start next Monday at 4 p. m. in the Indoor Athletic Building pool, Coach William Brooks has announced.
There is no charge for this instruction beyond the regular pool fees. Brooks estimates that the sessions will be completed by August 3, meeting five times a week.
The fifteen lessons cover all lifesaving topics from personal safety in the water to surfboard rescue.
There will also be workouts with lifesaving paraphernalia. Artificial respiration will also be stressed.
