Major sporting event of the season, the Summer School tennis tournament, will begin recruiting competitors next week on lists to be posted around Yard buildings. David G. Gill '45, counselor of men, is planning a men's single and a women's single tournament.
Since these have often been oversubscribed in the past, Gill may also post a doubles tournament for both men and women, and perhaps a mixed doubles tournament if interest is sufficient to warrant it.
The matches are held in the afternoons on the clay courts near the Dillon Field House. Awards will be made to the winners in each class.
Last year the final match created considerable interest, and over a hundred spectators crowded around the court for the championship engagement.
