Pierre Emmanuel, French poet whose difficulties obtaining entrance into the country created a furor during the summer of 1949, will be among the speakers at the four Summer School conferences this year. Ranging' in scope from Mobilization to "The Philosophical Bases of Literary Criticism," (Emmanuel's topic) the conferences will highlight the Summer Session.
Other speakers at the symposia will include Charles Malik, Lebanese representative ot the United Nations, Karl T. Compton, chairman of the National Research and Development Board during the war and M. I. T. president, and General Lucius D. Clay, now with the Office of Defense Mobilization.
Clay will speak at the last of the four conferences on "Mobilization and National Security." He will be joined by Senator Henry Cabot Lodge, Jr. '24 and Ernest A. Gross, U. S. Deputy Representative to the U. N. This conference will take place July 30 and 31.
