Perry Addresses Phi Beta Kappa Exercises Today

Philosopher Ralph Barton Perry, Edgar Pierce Professor of Philosophy, Emeritus, and poet Dr. William Carlos Williams will speak at 11 a. m. today in Sanders Theatre at the annual literary exercises of the College chapter of Phi Beta Kappa.

The exercise are open to the public and will be preceded by a business meeting of th chapter in Harvard Hall at 10 a. m. The members will then march to Sanders Theatre in a traditional procession, led by fife and drum.

Perry, who taught at Harvard from 1902 until his retirement in 1946, has authored a large number of books on philosophy and American thought and is considered an authority on the life and works of William James. Perry will give the Oration--"The Troubled Citizen."
