'Cliffe Thefts Spread; Cabot Reports Small Sums Stolen

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The wave of petty thefts which upset Moors Hall last week spread to Cabot and Briggs over the weekend. Cabot Head Resident Florence Gerrish said that several girls had reported money missing from their wallets at supper Sunday night. She warned all residents to lock up their valuables.

Students in Briggs Hall were also disturbed by several thefts which occurred Sunday night.

But there was no further attempt to catch the thief by adopting President Jordan's proposal. He asked that each student write down the serial numbers on her bills and turn them in if her money was stolen. The Cambridge police dismissed this plan last Wednesday night. They stated that keeping track of the serial numbers is useless because local merchants never check the numbers on their cash receipts.

Despite the spread of robberies to Briggs and Cabot, the volume of complaints had decreased as 'Cliffedwellers departed for vacation.
