Newton Recovers Art, Wins Medal for Work

Norman T. Newton, associate professor of Landscape Architecture, was yesterday awarded the Italian Star of Solidarity by the Italian government.

He received the prize as recognition for recovering and returning Italian works of art from Germany. Dr. Augusto Castellani, Italian Consul General in New England, made the presentation in Robinson Hall.

Newton served in the British Eighth Army through the Italian campaign in World War II.
