Hand signals for Massachusetts driver were made mandatory by the State Senate on Tuesday. The Senate put into law present regulations concerning signalling while driving.

The new bill requires drivers to display the hand with the broad side facing backwards in indicating a stop; to point in the direction of a left turn, and to rotate the hand to signal a right turn.
