Sailors Sink M.I.T. to Take Dinghy Club Cup

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Four skippers combined Sunday to cop the Boston Dinghy Club Cup from an M.I.T. team which was considered practically invincible in its own Basin. The coup de grace was a canny port tack by Frank Scully at the start of the final race. The move won the race for Harvard and overcome M.I.T.'s three point lead.

Harvard victory over the Engineers was the second in two weeks and came by a scant two points, 145-143. Boston College was a surprise third with 139.

The other skippers besides Scully were Jim Nathanson in Division A and Charlie McElroy and Tim Brown in B. According to one prominent Yacht Club member the reason for the Crimson's victory was that "we just slipped our First Division skipper in before M.I.T. did."
