All five Crimson players in the New England intercollegiate tennis tournament at Brown bowed out by the semifinals over the weekend. Charlie Ufford and Bob Bramhall, the fourth seeded doubles team, composed the only one of six varsity entries to reach the semifinals, but they lost to the second-sceded pair in the round of four.

Art French and Bill Goodman also joined to play doubles, but were defeated by the first-seeded pair. Bramhall, French, Dave Watts, and fifth-seeded Ufford, all lost their singles matches by the round of 16.

The freshman team meanwhile scored surprising 7 to 2 and 8 to 1 victories in their 'A' and 'B' matches Saturday with the Andover varsity and jayvees to remain undefeated this spring.
