C. Crane Brinton '19, McLean Professor of Ancient and Modern History, will receive this year's gold medal award of the Society of the Libraries of New York University at a dinner tonight in New York. Leo Gershoy, N.Y.U.'s professor of History, will present the award.

The medal is given each year to "an American scholar who reveals in his writings accurate scholarship and effectiveness of presentation."
