To the Editors of the CRIMSON:
In the music newspaper DOWNBEAT some very nasty socks were taken at me in a recent issue. In the issue of June 1st elaborate apologies are made to me.
On page 3 I am referred to as "a Harvard Phi Beta Kappa." I want to be on record that not only was I not a Phi Beta But that I have never at any time ever said to anyone that I was.
I have just been assured over the long distance phone by Ned Williams, DOWNBEAT's Editor, that he would try to stop press and correct this error. However, against the chance that copies containing the error may reach the stands, I would appreciate a word in the CRIMSON clearing me of having made any such phony claim as to my Harvard scholastic record.
