MIT Takes Yacht Cup; Crimson Places Fifth

A Crimson yawl nosed out M.I.T. yesterday at Annapolis, but M.I.T.'s two-day total in the yachting races gave them the Macmillan Cup. Harvard finished fifth with a total score of 11 3/4 points.

In Saturday's race the Crimson yawl was disqualified for tacking too close to the finish line and ramming the Cornell craft. Brown took second in the races, while Princeton came in third. Drexel, Penn State, and Dartmouth tied for fourth.

Brown, Cornell, and M.I.T. took the lead at the start of yesterday's race on the choppy Severn River. Harvard drove ahead at the half-way mark of the nineteen mile course, with Brown and Drexel in close pursuit.

The Macmillan race is the oldest active intercollegiate yachting meet in the country.
