Golfers Defeated On Vacation Trip

The Crimson golf team finished last in a four team round-robin tournament held in White Sulphur Springs, Virginia during vacation. Colgate took first place, edging Washington and Lee by one point in the two-day competition. The University of Ohio was third, with 19 1/2 points, three behind the winner. The Crimson trailed badly with 10 1/2 points.

The trip provided the first real practice of the year for most of the members of the team despite the fact that rain and some snow hindered operations. The men who accompanied newly appointed Coach Frank E. Richart were Doug Wilde, captain, Dave Gorman, Dusty Burke, Carl Timpson, Mitch Rosenholtz, and Dave Hedberg.

The team opens its season April 23 with a match against M.I.T. Following this, the team will have nine more matches, including Yale, Williams, Amherst, Dartmouth, and the Eastern Intercollegiate Golf Championships at Yale.
