Dave Hedberg, number two man on the varsity golf team, played to an unusual tie with his opponent as the team split with Brown yesterday, 3 1/2 to 3 1/2. The match was played at the Wannamolsetta Country Club in Rumford R.I. Under team match rules players who are tied at the end of the regulation 13 holes can not play off their match in extra holes.
Dusty Burke, playing one for the Crimson, won his match on the 18th hole with a birdie three.
The summary: Burke (H) defeated McVickers, 1 up; Hedberg (H) tied Wallensdick; Connors (B) defeated Wilde, 5 and 3; McKinley (B) defeated Gorman, 1 up; Rosenholtz (H) defeated Jacobson, 2 up; Timpson (H) defeated Hall, 2 up; and Friedman (B) defeated Lukins, 4 and 3.
