'Cliffe Commuters Get Council Set; News, WRRB Out

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

'Cliffedwellors approved all five proposed changes in the Student Government Association constitution by large majorities, voting results showed last night. Voting yesterday and Wednesday brought 533 girls to the polls.

The new rules sanction the formation of a commuter organization with administrative power and with a vote on the Student Council for the commuter president. In addition, Radio Radcliffe and the Radcliffe News were withdrawn from voting seats on the Council.

The new Commuter Organization will consist of all non-resident members of the Student Government Association. Its elected officers will be a president, a secretary, and a treasurer. Three additions to the constitution were necessary for these changes.

Membership Lists Small

Two other items on the ballot removed Council voting power from the editor-in-chief of the Radcliffe News and the president of Radio Radcliffe. The changes had been proposed in petitions from members of the two groups, who felt that their membership lists were too small to warrant Council representation.

As a result of the voting, Radcliffe's Student Council has three more tasks to perform: supervising an election for commuter officers, deciding whether to continue the Agassiz and Dormitory Commuter committees, and adding the commuter officers to appropriate groups under "Restriction of Officers" in the bylaws. This section limits the Student Government positions one girl may hold simultaneously.
