Cliffe Cancels Summer Science Program, Says Too Few Girls Applied

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Radcliffe has cancelled its Bummer Science Training Program because not enough girls have applied, Mrs. Mary A. Fieser, Director, said yesterday. Ten girls took part in the program last summer, is first year. Mrs. Fieser said 20 were needed this year.

The eight-week program of work without pay, in medical and industrial laboratories in the Boston area, was offered by the Annex in cooperation with universities and firms engaged in scientific work.

One reason for insufficient interest in the program might be the large number of paying job available this summer, Mrs. Fieser added. The program may be continued at some future time, she said.

Radcliffe's Summer Secretarial School, and the course in Publishing Procedures still will be offered this year, it was learned yesterday.

Applications for these two courses will be accepted until June 1.
