Four beer-drinking Smith girls and their Yale and Princeton dates were booked for trespassing by Northampton police in the aftermath of a boisterous box-car revel last Sunday.
More than 30 students began the party in the Boston and Maine box-car. After neighbors complained, police arrived at dusk to find only eight bitter-enders bouncing beer cans on the rails.
Police arrived just in time to save the students from being sealed in the box-car, which was scheduled to be picked up by a cross-country freight train.
