Knaus Comes Up For Trial Monday

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The long-deferred forgery trial of Albert C. Knaus, Jr. 1E starts Monday morning in the Middlesex County Superior Court.

The trial has been postponed several times since Knaus was arraigned January 16 before Judge Arthur P. Stone '93 on 11 counts of larceny and 11 counts of forgery and utterance. Knaus obtained the delay because some of his witnesses have been unable to appear until now.

Knaus is charged with taking $700 in checks while a courier for the University Mail Service. He has been free since his arraignment on $3,000 ball.

Still affirming his innocence, Knaus said yesterday he would ask no further postponements.
