Yard Nine Crushes Tufts, 12-1; Groper Yields Only Three Hits

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

In its first game this spring, the Yardling baseball team trounced the Tufts freshman, 12 to 1, at Soldiers Field Saturday. Pat Groper pitched a three-hitter for the victory and struck out seven men while walking only four.

The freshman, led by Jim Donovan, who made two hits and batted in four runs, scored in every inning except two. They were never threatened after the second inning, when Tufts scored an unearned run without getting a hit.
