Mulvihill Not Alarmed By A.F. of L.'s Latest Try to Replace Union

Indifference marks the attitude of Daniel G. Mulvihill, president of the Harvard University Employee's Representative Association, over the American Federation of Labor's recent attempts to replace the union with a Harvard local.

Mulvihill considers this attempt to invade the independent union no more serious than the five previous unsuccessful ones.

The H.U.E.R.A. has been continually under fire ever since its formation in January, 1938. The A.F. of L. had taken over most of the dining hall and was moving in on the rest of the University workers when 400 service employees formed the H.U.E.R.A.

The A.F. of L. immediately charged it as being a company union, and receiving support from the University. Mulvihill denies any knowledge of dissatisfaction within the union, as the A.F. of L. has charged.
