Ferre Wants Social Change By Church, Not Communists

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Communism although an unsound philosophy, "is right in the respect that it believes the world can be changed," Dr. Nels S. F. Ferre said last night in the thirds of a series of lectures on "Meaning Confronts Chaos."

He said that he was "thankful to capitalism" because it produced a new order of creative leisure, but that it is capitalism's duty to effect sociological reform. "Any church preserving the status quo is contrary to the spirit of the New Testament," added Ferre.
