Kirkland moved within one game of the House volleyball championship yesterday by beating Dunster in the I.A.B. The Deacons defeated their nearest rival two games to none, while Eliot also shut out Winthrop by the same margin.
Kirkland is favored to defeat Lowell today in its last scheduled game.
In freshman intramural competition, Matthews N. won by forfeit over Thayer S.; Grays topped Lionel, 2-0; Stoughton beat Thayer N., 2-0; Massachusetts defeated Mower, 2-0; Wigg. E. downed Weld S., 2-0; Hollis and Thayer M. both forfeited; Matthews S. conquered Holworthy, 2-0; and Weld N. stopped Wigg. W., 2-0.
The Yard's swimming finals will take place in the I.A.B. at 7:15 p.m. tonight. Qualifying heats were held Tuesday evening to determine tonight's participants, with men holding the six best times in each of the eight events to compete this evening. Tonight's events will include: 50 yard freestyle, 50 yard breaststroke, 50 yard backstroke, 100 yard freestyle, 200 yard freestyle, 150 medley relay, 150 free style relay, and diving.
