8 Takeaways From Harvard’s Task Force Reports
Bart J. Bok, Willson Professor of Applied Astronomy, has been appointed temporary successor to the late John S. Paraskevoupoulos, as superintendent of the Boyden Station of the Harvard Observatory in Bloemfontein, Africa.
A new permanent superintendent of the Boyden Observatory will be appointed by the Harvard Observatory Council before September, when Bok is scheduled to return to Cambridge.
Paraskevopoulos, who died March 15, at the age of 62, was director of the Boyden Observatory since 1927. He previously served as head of the Department of Astronomy and Meteorology of the National Observatory in Athens.
