Radcliffe's Student Council, at an emergency meeting yesterday, failed to solve the difficult question of whether students on sixth Dean's list and below, should be allowed to run for important student government offices.

An amendment stating that students below that students below that list may run for, or hold, any such office, subject to the approval of the Dean's office, mustered only 12 of the 16 votes necessary.

Another emergency meeting will be held on Monday, to continue discussion of the problem, and a compromise is expected. It is possible, however, that Council will decide not to permit any students with lower than sixth Dean's list standing to run for office.

Meanwhile, election of dormitory officers will be postponed until after vacation.
